CMS Compliance Updates at Senior Insurance Advisors
We’re always looking for ways to better serve our clients! Recently, that has included a couple of small administrative changes to keep us aligned with new CMS compliance requirements. Most of these will have a limited impact on our working relationships, but we want to keep you in the know about everything we do. Here's an overview of the updates and what they mean for you as a Medicare enrollee.
Phone Calls
If you have us saved as a contact in your phone, then you’ll want to update it with our new phone number! Dana is now available at
402-673-6950 if you need to call or text about your coverage or set up an in-person meeting. Some of our calls may need to be recorded moving forward, too. You’ll also hear or see a disclaimer about the plans we offer in your area. This has always been true for Senior insurance Advisors, and if you’re an existing client, we’ve probably talked about it before! CMS is simply having us standardize the wording all advisors use so they can ensure the same level of quality communication we have always offered.
Online
In addition to the plan offering details you’ll hear on the phone, you’ll also notice some new language on our website and in our emails. This is also information that has always been true, just communicated in a more standardized way! We’re here to help you understand your Medicare options overall and can help you select the perfect plan from the variety of carriers we partner with. While we may not sell every single plan available in your area, our partnerships and advice can still help you find coverage that will fit your unique needs.
Why Did CMS Change Their Requirements?
In short, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have made these changes to protect Medicare recipients. We’ve always worked to help our clients understand their options when it comes to Medicare, so these CMS compliance updates are a natural extension of how we’ve always operated. Having a standardized set of information across all independent agents offering Medicare advisement helps every Medicare enrollee in the long run.
What Does This Mean for Me?
Aside from updating your saved contact, you don’t have to make any changes in how you work with us! As we come up on the Annual Enrollment Period, you’re still able to keep your existing coverage or explore other options that may be a better fit for your insurance needs. If you have any questions about your plan at any time, then please feel free to give us a call. You can expect the same great service and advice you’ve always received.
Whether you’re new to Medicare or have had coverage for years, we’re here to help! Our services are always offered at no cost to you, from one-on-one meetings to the informational content we post in our blog. We encourage you to reach out if you have questions about the Medicare enrollment process or your current coverage.
